You’re maintaining your skin health both internally and externally

When it comes to health and beauty, skin is a major element. The skin on our face, is on display to the rest of the world on a permanent basis. It’s the first thing others notice, and this means two things; Firstly, you want to make sure you’re maintaining your skin health both internally and externally. Although factors such as diet, water intake, stress and genetics play a role in our skin’s appearance, outside elements such as severe climate, sun exposure and even atmosphere play an even larger part in determining our outer appearance. With that said, we at Skin Society understand that complete skin damage prevention is unavoidable, however, it is manageable and treatable.
One of the most common skin conditions we often treat, especially among women, is something known as rosacea. Rosacea is characterized by broken capillaries, often situated around the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead. It often appears in the form of diffused redness on the skin.
We believe education is the key to success – in all fields, including optimal skin health. For this reason, Skin Society Bar is here to answer any questions you may have about your skin health.

What are the COMMON SYMPTOMS of Rosacea?

The most common symptoms that a rosacea patient will suffer from include:

OUR TREATMENT SOLUTION for Rosacea

When it comes to the question of how to treat rosacea, it always depends on the severity of the particular case we are treating. Whilst there is no permanent cure for the long-term skin condition, there are various rosacea facial treatments, and the condition can be tackled in a number of different ways.
At Skin Society, we believe all skin problems can be tackled naturally. Using ingredients such as colloidal oatmeal for gentle hydration, mint for calming, aloe for soothing, avocado, and almond oil to provide a moisturizing polish and our signature LED Mask technology, which features an advanced three-light system, we are able to target the redness-causing inflammation below the surface of the skin, which is where rosacea originates. Results are visible instantly just after your first session, without having to worry about prescription medications, harsh retinols and synthetic ingredients which cause dependency and are often prescribed by dermatologists.

What can you do to

PREVENT ROSACEA?

Although rosacea is a preventable and treatable condition, we have to accept that without maintenance, treatments are a temporary solution.
To get the most of your rosacea treatment with Skin Society Bar, we encourage you to follow a few simple rules for longest-lasting results:

Apply sunscreen, daily. A broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30+ blocks the sun’s harmful aging rays which cause conditions such as aging, including excess redness on the skin. UVA (aging) rays penetrate deeper into the skin, which means that even on a cloudy day, unprotected skin is enduring a lot of damage.

Avoid very hot, very humid and/or very sunlit places as much as you possibly can. Heat expands blood vessels, promoting overall redness and making rosacea a much more prominent condition.

Try to cover your face when going out into particularly cold weather, with the aim of shielding your cheeks from biting temperatures and abrasive winds. Much like extreme heat, extreme cold causes breakage in our capillaries, resulting in visible veins.

Seeking out skincare products that are as gentle as possible. Pay particular attention to the ingredients lists and always opt for the most natural and subtle products that will pose smaller risk of sensitizing the skin. This includes synthetic fragrances.

We recognize that this one is easier said than done! Working on aspects of your life where stress levels could be lowered may profoundly result in an overall more even skin tone. This can be anything from practicing mindfulness to making changes in your routine that have been causing you stress or anxiety. Living calmly and as low maintenance a life as possible has been cited as the preferred way of life for those who want to lower the risk of their rosacea returning on a regular basis.

There are a few things you can do to be as prepared as possible for your facial treatment and if you’re looking for an express facial, this can help you speed the process, while still getting the most out of it. You should also do your best to avoid excess sun exposure in the week leading up to your facial. Write down the products you’re using at home and your skincare routine and be ready to talk about any medications you’re currently taking. You’ll also want to be prepared to discuss any skin conditions you have and whether you have any big events coming up, such as a wedding or family photos.
